Research & Reports
Research plays an integral role in the work of the Aboriginal Health & Wellness Centre of Winnipeg (AHWC) by helping shape culturally grounded, community-driven services for Indigenous peoples in Winnipeg.
As Manitoba’s only Urban Indigenous Community Health Agency, AHWC combines traditional Indigenous knowledge with contemporary healthcare practices to better understand and respond to the evolving needs of the community. Through trauma-informed care, wraparound support services, and a holistic approach rooted in Medicine Wheel teachings, research helps guide programs that address physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.
AHWC’s commitment to research also supports evidence-based decision making, strengthens Indigenous-led healthcare practices, and empowers the organization to advocate for equitable access to health and wellness resources for First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and 2SLGBTQQ+ community members.
