About Headstart

The Headstart Program helps young Indigenous children between the ages of 3yrs-5yrs get school ready. We support a healthy foundation for them to become lifelong learners.

We supply them a healthy breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack, this way their tummies are happy which in turn gives them mental focus for their lessons.

School Year Program

September to June

Children Ages 3-5yrs

Monday - Thursday

10:00am - 3:00pm

We include morning snack, a hot lunch and afternoon snack.
We follow the Canada Food Guide and make sure that all children have full tummies.
We have lesson plans for in class learning, this includes cultural teaching and language.
We take the children outdoors to get fresh air and to have some play time to let out all that energy.
Children must be fully potty trained to start

Summer Program

July to August

Children Ages 5-6yrs

Monday - Thursday

10:00am - 3:00pm

We include morning snack, a hot lunch and afternoon snack.
We follow the Canada Food Guide and make sure that all children have full tummies.
We take the children on outings and do have cultural teachings for them.
Children must be fully potty trained to start
Our main goal is to have fun with the children let them enjoy the weather and THEIR SUMMER.

This program supports urban Indigenous individuals experiencing homelessness and multiple barriers by helping them secure permanent, appropriate housing in the community while providing individualized, portable supports and empowering services that promote independence and long-term self-sufficiency.
